I begin my presidency of the Ateneo de Davao University humbly asking for the grace of strength in faith, fortes in fide, the core spirit of our university’s mission of education. This faith is manifold. faith in God, in the world, in our university community, in those we serve, in each other. It is the foundation of our mission. Through this faith, we recommit ourselves to our mission, in this leadership transition.
I am profoundly grateful to Fr. Joel Tabora SJ, our president and servant leader for the past twelve years. His extraordinary leadership has brought our university to great heights of service, spirituality, and social transformation in Davao, Mindanao; our country, and beyond. I hope to sustain and renew his vision and legacy, always in collaboration with you.
Thank you for the very warm welcome you have given me. Thank you for your prayers and blessings. I look forward to conversations with you, to working and praying with you, as friends in the Lord in the mission that is Ateneo de Davao University.
