The Ateneo de Davao University Basic Education Unit strengthened its commitment to community safety and preparedness through the Security Threat Preparedness and Response Awareness activity held on August 28, 2026, at the Martinez Sports Complex, Matina Campus.

The activity brought together members of the Grade School, Junior High School, and Senior High School communities to deepen their awareness of potential security threats and strengthen their capacity to respond appropriately during unexpected situations.

Through the activity, participants gained valuable knowledge on safety protocols, emergency response procedures, situational awareness, and appropriate actions during security-related incidents. The sessions emphasized the importance of remaining calm, vigilant, and responsible while working together to protect oneself and others.

The Ateneo de Davao University extends its sincere appreciation to the Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO), City of Davao, and its partner agencies for sharing their expertise and supporting the university’s continuing efforts in building a culture of preparedness:

  • Davao City Police Office (DCPO)
  • City Explosives and Canine Unit (CECU)
  • City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO)
  • Task Force Davao (TFD)

Their partnership and dedication play an important role in equipping the Ateneo community with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond responsibly to security concerns and emergencies.

More than an awareness activity, the gathering reinforced the principle that safety is a shared responsibility. By staying informed, prepared, and attentive to one another’s well-being, the Ateneo community can help create an environment where learners and personnel feel safe, supported, and ready to respond when it matters most.

Together, we strengthen a safer, more prepared, and more resilient Ateneo community.
