How will instruction be delivered in SY 2021-2022?
The classroom instruction from Preschool to Grade 6 will be conducted online.  The physical classroom will now be replaced with a virtual classroom where teacher-pupil interaction takes place through video conferences and other forms of digital tools where interactions are possible.
The Preschool and Grade School is fully online.
Why choose online instruction?
This is the safest mode of delivering instruction in the midst of this pandemic. Even if the quarantine will be eased, mobility will still be restricted and the threat of contracting the virus is still very imminent.  Moreover, delivering the instruction online ensures pupils’ safety in their own homes while learning with their teachers and classmates in real-time although they are in different places. There is an array of online resources that can enrich pupils’ learning in this digital age.
How is an online class structured?
Each online class is guided by the Online Instruction Delivery Plan (OIDP) which is a complete plan in teaching an online subject to a class. It contains the reasons for teaching the subject, the activities on how pupils’ learning is assessed, the activities on how essential topics of the subject are taught, and the development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The OIDP ensures that all the subjects and essential contents delivered in the regular classroom are delivered online.
How does an online class look on a day-to-day basis for PRESCHOOL?
The Preschool level has Playschool (for 3 years old), Nursery (for 4 years old), and Kindergarten (for 5 years old). The online class for these levels is structured like a regular class that follows a schedule from Monday to Friday.  One class day lasts for about 3 hours and 30 minutes.  Each day, there are specific tasks that the pupils will follow and do. The teacher starts and ends the class online.  Each class starts with a one-minute mindfulness exercise to prepare each pupil to start or transition to another online class.  Each class will follow two modes of learning:
  1. Individualized instruction wherein a pupil accesses the essential knowledge of the topic by reading the notes or viewing the video topic presentation prepared by the teacher of the subject.
  2. Guided instruction wherein a pupil accesses the essential knowledge of the topic by participating in an actual online class conducted by the teacher.
Moreover, Preschool will have a maximum of 1 hour video conference with the pupils and detailed tasks will be provided afterwards.
How does an online class look on a day-to-day basis for GRADE SCHOOL?
The Grade School is composed of Grades 1-6 levels. The levels follow a 6-day class cycle. All the subjects are arranged and spread out in 6 days to equitably distribute the sessions to all the days. It means that the schedule varies each week based on the spread of the subjects’ allotment.
Grade School will have a maximum of 3 hours of class video conference per day. The rest of the hours will be asynchronous. The sessions are a balance of synchronous learning and asynchronous learning modes.
A section is divided into clusters. If the child belongs to the morning cluster, three online classes via video conferences are scheduled in the morning while the afternoon session is for offline activities, remedial sessions, or formation sessions.
If your child belongs to the afternoon cluster, the three online classes via video conferences are scheduled in the afternoon while the morning session is for offline activities, remedial sessions, or formation sessions.

Is there interaction with other online pupils?
Yes, the online class allows the pupils to interact through video conferences, discussion forums, group assignments, online posting boards (Stream), and class discussions.
How will the pupil and the parents know what to do each day?
The uploaded weekly schedule guides the pupils and parents on daily tasks. Detailed instructions are also provided in each online classroom with corresponding learning resources to study and work on as well as the links to online resources. The pupils also meet their subject teachers daily to facilitate their learning experiences.
How are the lessons delivered?
Lessons are delivered using Google Classroom and complemented with a wide variety of formats in order to cater to different learning styles. Some examples of delivery are online face-to-face discussion through Zoom or Google Meet, videos, PowerPoint presentations accompanied by teacher voiceover, interactive labs and models, external websites, online articles, discussion forums, along with other interactive tools.

Will the pupils be sitting in front of a computer all day?
Not at all. The pupils will have a half-day online class with an average of 3 hours and 30 minutes every day from Monday to Friday. They do some of the essential works offline such as reading books, solving math problems on paper, drawing, and conducting activities.

Does the school require the pupil’s attendance online?
Yes. The subject teachers will check the pupils’ attendance and keep it in the attendance folder.  This is also to monitor pupils’ participation in individualized online instruction and in guided online instruction.
Do pupils need to attend classes at specific times for Grades School pupils?
Yes, just like in a regular classroom but this time the pupils are in their respective homes. There are 3 online classes in a day that the pupils will attend. Each class will run for about an hour with teacher online supervision.

Do pupils need to attend classes at specific times for Preschool pupils?
Yes, just like in a regular classroom but this time the pupils are in their respective homes. The Preschool pupil will join the synchronous session for an hour.
How many pupils are in online classes?
To ensure quality instruction, online classes will have the following number of pupils:
Playschool:       at least 3 pupils per session
Nursery:       at least 5 pupils per session
Kindergarten:       at least 7 pupils per session
Grade 1:          at least 13 pupils per session (the regular class is divided into 3)
Grades 2-6:     at least 19 pupils per session (the regular class is divided into 2)
The classes are scheduled into morning sessions and afternoon sessions.  The pupils will follow a schedule for the whole year.
What will the pupils do for the remaining time of the day (either morning or afternoon)?
This time is intended for conducting offline/individual study (e.g. doing assignments, reading assigned materials), collaborating with online classmates, performing assigned tasks, working on remediation activities for those who have difficulty understanding the concepts or developing the skills, working on enrichment activities for those who have mastered the concepts and skills, conferences with the guidance counselor and the teacher, or join formation sessions.

How are the assessments performed?
Assessments are done through a variety of formats; there are quizzes, tests, discussions, and assignments that our teachers use for assessment. Pupils will be required to appear on video to take the assessments.
Does the subject still require textbooks?
Some subjects still require textbooks since they are relevant to the pupil’s learning while at home.  The presentation of the concepts and the exercises in the textbooks are easy to follow even while the pupil is studying independently.

How are online classes graded?
Online classes are graded just like in the regular classroom. Formative and summative assessments will be conducted online. Tasks will also be given that can be done online or offline. The conduct of assessments will be complemented with appropriate digital tools and platforms.
How do pupils take assessments?
Summative assessments (SAs, QAs, oral and listening skills, ETs/UPTs) will be given online using appropriate and manageable digital tools. These will be conducted in a manner that the integrity of the assessments will be protected.
What is the parent’s/responsible adult’s role in the pupil’s learning?
The parent/responsible adult is required to assist the school by
  1. Assuring that the child’s daily attendance to online classes and that he/she does not browse social networks etc.
  2. Checking that the child works on the assignments
  3. Helping the child set a daily class routine following the given schedule
  4. Helping the child prepare a conducive learning environment or space at home
  5. Monitoring the child’s progress and comprehension
  6. Encouraging and motivating the child to learn
  7. Reminding the child to observe proper behavior
  8. Teaching the child to be an independent learner
  9. Consulting with the teachers on the child’s academic progress
What technology is needed?
To prepare your child for this new learning experience, the following materials would be needed:
  1. Desktop or laptop:

Supports online activities such as Google Classroom, Google Meet, and   It should also support the access of web browsers like Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Internet Explorer 10 or later for Windows and Safari 6 or later for Mac.
